The Why
We learn about health in school, but sometimes it's limited and leaves out the important connection to our lives. It's important to know the what when it comes to health and wellness, but it's even more important to connect it with the why. We saw the disconnect between curriculum, content, and application, and worked to connect holistic health and wellness practices with not only ourselves but also our community.

- Nutrition and Physical Fitness. We have to know how to build, fuel, and maintain our bodies- which are our foundation for life.
- In order to be our best selves and help others, we must first know who we are and learn how to love ourselves and take care of ourselves. Practicing yoga and deep breathing, stillness and the "quieting of the mind" helps teach us to re-frame our circumstances and respond to the world around us in a more calm and centered way. We work on developing a toolkit to assist us in dealing with stress, anxiety, and everything else life throws at us. We then focus on the power of positive affirmations to reinforce everything we've learned and to remind us of our value and contribution to the world.

- Shedding light on some of the health and wellness challenges our school community faces, and sharing the newfound knowledge our team has gained from the Regular Girl Fitness program will better our community as we work together to inspire healthy living. Change starts within and begins to ripple out into those around us.
